Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy is an area of rehabilitation medicine that treats injury, disability and disease by incorporating treatment techniques, such as joint mobilizations, exercise, soft tissue techniques, education, assistive devices, electrotherapy/ultrasound to preserve, enhance or restore physical  movement and function.

PRE-Treatment

In order to assess your mobility easily, please wear loose fitting comfortable clothing. If you are having an area of your upper body assessed and treated, please wear a tank top or sport bra.  If the area to be treated is knee or hip, please where shorts.

ASSESSMENT

Your initial assessment will include a thorough medical history and physical assessment. Depending on the information provided in the history, the physical assessment may include joint range of motion, strength, neural testing, along with special tests to determine the primary cause of your symptoms. Where you feel the pain, isn't always the structure that is causing the pain. Our bodies are fascinating and everything is connected.

TREATMENT

Once the issue is identified, we will develop an individualized treatment plan which may include: Education, activity modifications, home exercises, manual therapy, postural correction, acupuncture/IMS, taping, ultrasound, cupping, soft tissue techniques (soft tissue release, soft tissue massage, trigger point release); in order for you to reach your rehabilitation goals.
